Is Satellite Internet Service reliable?

I dont have access to dsl or any other internet option because I live in a rural area. Should I opt for satellite Internet and is it reliable? I am ready to go with a deal I found here: http://www.satelliteinternetisp.net but I need to know more before I pull the trigger. I am thinking about going with hughes.
