Why do Mexicans buy shoes so often?

This isn't meant to be racist, and shouldn't be taken as such. I work at a Walmart in Kansas Missouri. I work in the electronics department, but I often get people purchasing other things at the electronics register. Now, one observation (And a blaringly obvious one) is that Hispanic customers (Particularly male) who generally speak little to no English, tend to purchase a lot of shoes. I'd have to say the #1 thing bought by my Hispanic customers, is shoes. Why is this? Generally they're boots, as well. And never in groupings of other items. They'll purchase ONLY a pair of boots, sometimes in groups of three or more who will all purchase one pair of shoes/boots. This isn't only my observation, either. It's sort of a running gag among the other employees, and no one understands why this is. Any enlightenment?
